Be a beginner with us!
This ongoing bi-weekly class is dedicated to teaching the foundations of bellydance, which the dancer can use to continue their study with Athanor OR move on to a different program (virtual, workshop or other studio).
Taught by Ethereal Ginnie Fae who has a decade of performance and study in Bellydance Fusion, Raqs Sharqi, Transnational Fusion and Persian Classical. Ginnie Fae is equipped to teach any new dancer the basics of the form AND how to modify it to their body.
*Schedule: Every other Tuesday from 6-6:55 through January.

*Location: Root Force Personal Training, 1410 Hull St, Richmond, VA 23224 @veganmuscleandfitness
- leave early to find street parking 🅿️
*Expectation:
This class is taught in the traditional dance education format with a teacher leading and students following. Each class will include:
- a warmup
-technical demonstration
-drilling technique
-learning a series of combos to our “practice” choreo.
On off weeks, students will be given a warm up video and shortened practice video to expand on their knowledge.
The best way to learn the dance form is through practice, in these 5 sessions, Ginnie Fae will teach you fundamentals along with a routine (that when done everyday) will help you expand on your technique, quickly.
-Dress comfortable and ready to move. Be prepared to stretch on the floor or against the wall.
-Wear what makes your feel confident and excited for the lesson
-we recommend a scarf to tie around your hips so you can see your movements
-water bottle (there is a fountain there) and a coat or sweater to keep your body warm through the warmup.
As always, this class is open to people of any race, gender, sexuality, creed, however space is limited, so please sign up early.
***We value everyone’s time and class starts at 6 promptly. If you alive late, there’s no worry, please join quietly and follow along with the class.
*How to Pay: All proceeds are going to Root Force Personal training to pay for dance space used by Athanor dance Collective. The cost is $15 a class with a max of $30 for November and January.
